Linville Falls Winery

“The Mad Hatter: “Would you like some wine?”
Alice: “Yes…”
The Mad Hatter: “We haven’t any and you’re too young.”
― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

Last weekend, my dear friend, Jennifer, asked if I would like to join her for the Grape Stomp at Linville Falls Winery.  A vision of Lucille Ball stomping grapes was the first thing to enter my head.  Of course I would love to go to a wine stomp!

The weather was absolutely perfect for a day at the picturesque winery.

Perfect Weather

Although I envisioned taking pictures of others stomping grapes, I did not realize I would get the opportunity to stomp on them myself.  Taking my camera with me was  not the best of plans as it was a bit slippery in there.  The camera and I did manage to make it out without incident.  Thanks, Jennifer, for the picture!

Grape Stomp

People of all ages were eager to stomp grapes.

Baby Feet

After stomping grapes and getting our t-shirts to prove it, we began to explore the winery.

Grapes

There was something begging to be photographed at every turn!

Jennifer and I ended up spending much of the afternoon at the winery.  It was such a festive atmosphere!  It was such an enjoyable way to spend a beautiful day on the last weekend of summer.

As we were getting ready to leave the winery, I had to make one last photograph when I saw the light streaming into this barn.

The Barn

The Linville Falls Winery opened its doors in 2012.  Jack Wisemen, the owner, followed his dreams to create the winery.  You can read a bit about his story here.

It was my first visit to Linville Falls Winery, but it won’t be my last.  Perhaps you, too, will get a chance to visit this beautiful place.
