Week Two Composite: Why Not A Dog?

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”
― Mahatma Gandhi

So today I present my second composite for my 52-week project in 2018.  Much of this year is going to be devoted to learning and growing as a photographer and visual artist.  I feel as if I am at somewhat of a crossroads and not sure which way to turn.  I am hoping that this 52-week project along with other projects I am working on this year, will help me find my way.

Why Not A Dog?

Here is my composite for week two.  This started with two images I had previously combined.  I had already combined the skull and the car.

The most recent weather gripping most of our country made me want to add snow to the image.  I have never added snow to an image before, so I went to my trusty friend, Google, and searched for videos explaining how to add snow to an image using Photoshop.  My search led me to a wonderful video created by Aaron Nace of Phlearn.com.    You can watch Aaron’s informative video by clicking here.

I used a texture I created of ice to tie things together.

As a finishing touch, I added the dog.  When I showed my husband, Randy, the image, he asked, “why a dog?”.

The only thing that came to mind was, “why not a dog?”.   I think that the magic in all of this is going to be that I can create anything as long as I let my imagination take me where it wants to go.

So here is my composite for week two.

I hope you will join me here for upcoming composites.  I am looking forward to seeing where this adventure leads!
